Join screen-obsessed teen Dorothy as she gets whisked away from her boring farm life and dropped straight into the magical, colourful world of Oz! Desperate to get back home to her Aunty Em, Dorothy is set off by the fabulous Dame Glinda on an unforgettable journey down the Yellow Brick Road—meeting funny characters along the way to the Emerald city.
Featuring a comedic driven Scarecrow, the singing inspired Tin lady, and the anxiety-ridden Lion. Of course there will be obstacles along the road and the Wicked Witch will try to stop them. Oh yes she can! This modern twist on the classic tale is packed with show-stopping musical numbers, side-splitting comedy, and plenty of audience participation. Will Dorothy find the courage to step out from behind her screen and save the day?

Washington Theatre Group is made up of members of different ages, backgrounds, skills and experiences working together to put on a great show.
We welcome and encourage new members to join and take part in whatever aspects of theatre production interests them, but also encourage people to dip a toe outside of their comfort zone and try new things such as painting set, writing a script, acting on stage and controlling light and sound. Everything is important. It’s also a great way to meet new people and make new friends.
If you’re interested in joining, just pop along to the Arts Centre in Washington on a Tuesday night around 7pm and ask at reception for Washington Theatre Group. If you would like more information before taking the plunge please use the contact form on this page or on the Contact Us page.
NOTE: WTG is an adult theatre group, all members must be 18 years of age or above. For information about children’s theatre groups please contact the Arts Centre .
