Hi-De-Hi!

Written by Paul Carpenter, Ian Gower, David Croft and Jimmy Perry. Directed by Matthew Lowe.

It’s the start of a new season and founder Joe Maplin announces that he is setting up a camp in the Bahamas and needs female yellowcoats (entertainers) to go and work there. The annual “Miss Yellowcoat” competition will decide who. Imagine the rivalry!

Camp cleaner Peggy, meanwhile, is thrilled at the prospect of a vacancy for a new yellowcoat and convinces Entertainments Manager Jeffrey that she is the ideal candidate for the job. Ted is forced to employ numerous money-making schemes when his exwife turns up at the camp with a bailiff in tow and Yvonne and Barry Stuart- Hargreaves send the rumour mill into its usual overdrive when Gladys is overheard escorting Jeffrey into his chalet late one evening.

This amateur production of “Hi-De-Hi!” is presented by special arrangement with SAMUEL FRENCH LTD a Concord Theatricals Company.

About WTG

The WTG has members of all different ages (18 an above), skills and experience. We all work together to put on a great show. We always welcome and encourage new members to join and take part in whatever aspects of theatre production interests them, but also encouraged people to try and dip a toe outside of their comfort zone and try new things such as painting set, writing a script, acting on stage and controlling light and sound. Everything is important. It’s also a great way to meet new people and make new friends.

If you’re interested in joining, just pop along to the Arts Centre in Washington on a Tuesday night around 7:30pm and ask at reception for Washington Theatre Group. If you would like more information before taking the plunge please use the contact form on this page or on the Contact Us page.

NOTE: WTG is an adult theatre group, all members must be 18 years of age or above. For information about childrens theatre groups please contact the Arts Centre .
